We gots a problem.

Problem definition:

Anxiety disorders negatively affect millions of people in Western cultures. While therapies and medications can go a long way to alleviate anxiety and give strategies for coping with it, people need additional reinforcement of those strategies, especially when they're outside the therapist's office and dealing with daily life. Furthermore, anxiety disorders often make their sufferers reluctant to bother other people to get help, or ashamed of themselves for needing that help--so the privacy of a personal device can be comforting and effective for them.

Requirements & constraints:

-I am not a medical professional. I will be doing extensive consulting with both SME(s) and users from the target population in order to make sure that I am being appropriate in what I am asserting or recommending. Additionally, anxiety manifests in many different ways; I will be clear to the user about what is or is not covered and what they can reasonably expect from the final deliverable.

-Which subset(s) of anxiety am I looking at here? Generalized anxiety disorder or social anxiety disorder are probably the most obvious targets, but are they the best suited by this project's methodology?

-This will probably end up being an app, a website, or both, unless my research points me in a different direction.

-iOS has a slightly larger market share in the US and I may not have sufficient time to address all the different flavours and form factors of Android devices distributed worldwide. Therefore, if it's an app, it will more than likely be iOS native.

..Probably more that show up as I continue to research!
